Week 12 of First Trimester
Discover what happens during week 12 of first trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
Congratulations, you are three months pregnant! As you get ready to enter the next trimester, the energy and excitement about your pregnancy are rightfully at an all-time high. It's important to celebrate the incredible changes happening at this stage. Remember to prioritise self-care and to enjoy this special time with your partner or loved ones.
First Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
Your uterus has grown enough to rise above the pelvic bones, reducing pressure on the bladder for some people. The placenta is now taking over more responsibility for hormone production and nourishment. This shift can sometimes make symptoms feel more manageable.
What You Might Notice
Fatigue or nausea may begin easing, though not for everyone. You may also notice increased appetite, stronger emotions, or feeling physically lighter compared to earlier weeks.
Your Baby
Your baby can now make small movements like stretching, opening the mouth, and curling the fingers. Reflexes are developing, and the digestive system begins practicing simple contractions. Facial features continue becoming more defined and recognisably human.
