Week 32 of Third Trimester
Discover what happens during week 32 of third trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
Final stretch! Look back and appreciate yourself for being strong and resilient throughout this journey. And trust yourself for being the same in the time ahead of you. You’d be happy to know at this stage the survival rate of a premature baby is as high as 99%! Ensure you get stuff done this week, as it will be difficult to make arrangements once the baby arrives.
Third Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
Your uterus places increasing pressure on the diaphragm, pelvic floor, and abdominal muscles. Blood volume remains high, and your joints continue loosening gradually in preparation for labor and delivery. Your body is actively preparing for birth while still supporting rapid development.
What You Might Notice
You may feel tighter abdominal stretching, stronger pelvic pressure, or more frequent nighttime discomfort. Breathing deeply or moving quickly may also feel harder than before.
Your Baby
Your baby practices breathing movements regularly, helping strengthen the lungs before birth. Fingernails are fully formed now, and the brain continues building important neural pathways. Most babies also begin settling into a head-down position around this stage.
