Week 36 of Third Trimester
Discover what happens during week 36 of third trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
The last leg of this journey is going to be undoubtedly the most thrilling and enchanting one. It may bring up new challenges as well, but you have everything in you to fight them off. Even if you haven’t done all the baby arrangements yet, don’t stress yourself out - you still have time.
Third Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
If your baby begins dropping lower into the pelvis, pressure may shift away from the ribs and more toward the bladder, hips, and pelvic floor. Your body also continues loosening ligaments and joints in preparation for birth. Breathing may feel slightly easier for some people after the baby drops lower.
What You Might Notice
You may notice increased pelvic pressure, more frequent urination, or stronger Braxton Hicks contractions. Standing, walking, or changing positions may also feel more physically demanding now.
Your Baby
The lungs continue their final stages of development, while the brain keeps rapidly building neural connections. Many babies begin settling lower into the pelvis around now, especially in first pregnancies. Movements remain strong but may feel more like rolling or stretching than kicking.
