Week 8 of First Trimester
Discover what happens during week 8 of first trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
Congratulations! You’re now two months pregnant! Another milestone for your half-inch wonder as it sprouts itsy-bitsy limbs that it will use in future dance-offs with you. White all the dancing is already making mom dizzy, it’s prime time for dad to extend a helping hand.
First Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
Your uterus is expanding rapidly, and hormone levels remain high to support continued development. Many people experience peak fatigue around now because the body is directing enormous energy toward the pregnancy. Nausea, food aversions, and emotional sensitivity can also feel stronger during this stage.
What You Might Notice
You may feel physically and mentally stretched this week, especially if symptoms peak. Rest may feel less optional now—and more necessary than ever.
Your Baby
Most major organs now exist in early form, including the heart, brain, lungs, and digestive system. Fingers and toes begin separating, and the body starts making small spontaneous movements. Although you can’t feel them yet, these movements are an important sign of neurological development.
