Week 24 of Second Trimester
Discover what happens during week 24 of second trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
Felicitations! You’re six months along! Only a third of your pregnancy journey is now left to explore. You’ve done an awesome job these past months, we are incredibly proud of you. Just three more months and one word - patience.
Second Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
Your growing uterus changes posture and places increasing strain on muscles, ligaments, and the lower back. Blood sugar regulation also becomes more important around this stage as the placenta’s hormonal demands increase. Your body is supporting rapid development while preparing for the third trimester ahead.
What You Might Notice
You may notice stronger movements, increased back tension, or feeling physically heavier now. Heartburn, swelling, or interrupted sleep can also become more noticeable around this stage.
Your Baby
The lungs begin producing small amounts of surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs stay open after birth. Facial features continue refining, and your baby reacts more noticeably to sound and movement. Sleep and wake periods also become more consistent.
