Week 30 of Third Trimester
Discover what happens during week 30 of third trimester. Baby development, body changes, symptoms, and a weekly checklist.
What's Happening This Week
Just like your baby, your journey has had its fair share of hiccups during the past 7 and a half months. It seems like you make a great team, as both you and your little one are going on like a strong team, no matter what. Do remember to prioritize your own self-care and to seek support or resources as needed.
Third Trimester is a time of rapid change — for both you and your baby. Every pregnancy is unique, and the information below will help you understand what's happening and how to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Your Body
Your uterus now occupies much of the abdominal cavity, pressing against the diaphragm and digestive organs. Muscles and ligaments continue stretching to support the growing pregnancy and shifting center of gravity. Circulation and oxygen demands remain extremely high.
What You Might Notice
You may feel more rib pressure, stronger kicks, or difficulty taking deep breaths comfortably. Heartburn, fatigue, and lower back strain can also become more noticeable now.
Your Baby
The brain’s surface becomes more folded and developed this week, supporting increasingly advanced nervous system function. Body fat continues accumulating, helping smooth the skin and improve temperature regulation after birth. Your baby’s grip strength and movement coordination continue improving.
